Nature Conservancy and Wildlife Preservation at Bandipur Tiger Reserve

Bandipur National Park

Bandipur National Park

Where is Bandipur National Park located? Bandipur Tiger Reserve is the largest national park in Karnataka and falls under the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve. A two-hour short drive from Ooty takes us to the Man-Eaters of Nilgiris, a part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve.

There are deodar and pine trees, and most of the area traveled is covered with forests, creating an impeccable hysteria in the minds of wildlife enthusiasts across the country. It is a notable place in the minds of wildlife photographers, nature lovers, and enthusiasts and is worth visiting any time of the year. The National Park can be reached quickly from any South Indian city. One can also avail of elephant rides and safaris in the core and heaped areas of the forest with a minimal amount and can transcend the forest area. The reserve is an excellent place to spot birds, elephants, peacocks, sloth bears, deer, and leopards.

We can spot all types of animal species on the Bandipur safari.

Waterfalls, tea gardens, and border check posts exist between the two adjoining states of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Tourism is prevalent in these areas and is the only means of business across the region. One crucial factor that fascinates me is the chocolate factories all along the way and some museums depicting the importance of various brands of chocolates. They are affordable, within the middleman’s reach, and sold in grams in various town outlets. One can stay a day or two inside the forest bungalows and spend some good time with family and friends. Then, one can research the entire region before planning the trip. The locals are helpful and good at helping tourists find actual animal-spotting spots. There are wetlands in the forests where the species from the Cat family can be traced, but it is a matter of luck.

The Govt has taken great strides in promoting the park and increasing awareness among citizens of the country.

The natural landscape surrounding the reserve is fantastic and plays a significant role in attracting people from all around the country. The national birds, wild elephants, different types of deer, sloth bears, and unique monkeys are usually visible in the jungle areas. It is pretty refreshing for the mind and the body and, more importantly, the eyes to visit the region’s green areas, creating an unfathomable interest to convoy this important forest area. The National Park remains Karnataka’s largest national park, defeating its peers and competitors. The government of Karnataka is taking a lot of care, and developments are being undertaken to preserve the area covered under forests and maintain its dignity.

Bandipur is located between the Deccan plateau and the Western Ghats.

Dry deciduous forests dominate Bandipur National Park and adjoining areas of the Tiger Reserve, compounding the Deccan Plateau and the Western Ghats. Many flora depict the region’s value, including bamboo, rosewood, sandalwood, and other endangered species found in various corners of the forests.
